Ninja URL

A bridge between a practical tool and a gaming ecosystem.

Ninja URL Dashboard Dojo

Overview

URL Ninja is a high-energy control panel designed for Hanami Software. It transforms a standard service (link shortening) into a gamified interactive portal. The project was conceived to cover internal software needs while increasing engagement for Hanami's future "Ninja Game" ecosystem.

Main Goal

The main objective was to create a tool that didn't feel like a boring utility, but like a video game experience, connecting a productivity tool with the lore and mechanics of an online game.

The UX challenge lay in integrating advanced features such as AI-powered previews without cluttering the interface, and keeping gamification subtle yet present in every corner.

Research Method & Results

Due to budget constraints, I conducted a qualitative study on digital marketing forums and developer communities. I researched the daily workflow of power users who manage dozens of links simultaneously.

The research revealed a common bottleneck: users tend to generate shortened links in a hurry, choosing generic and unmemorable names. Upon returning to their dashboards, they could not distinguish the purpose of each link without clicking one by one to verify the destination, slowing down their workflows.

Key Features

Gamified Ecosystem

Using the shortener is rewarded with a scoring system. Each link created and click received contributes to increasing the user's "Ninja Rank", feeding directly into their general profile in Hanami's game world.

AI Hover Previews

To streamline the navigation of shortened links, I designed a smart preview system. Hovering over any link instantly generates a preview card summarizing the target website (title, brief description, and image), allowing immediate visual destination checks.

Design System

The project was structured on a consistent design system using Figma variables to ensure scalability and visual longevity. I meticulously designed and documented every token and component to ensure that if the project suffered pauses in development, any developer or new designer could maintain complete visual consistency without my direct supervision.

Project Status

The URL Ninja idea was born with great internal momentum. However, due to budget changes and priority shifts at Hanami Software, the project was paused before final development. It stands as an excellent example of my capability to design high-fidelity dynamic interfaces that expand the possibilities of traditional SaaS tools.
